What We Do

Using income from our thrift store, the Kit and Caboodle, and other donor gifts, we offer assistance to individuals experiencing I/DD and to organizations supporting individuals experiencing I/DD.

Individual Assistance

Our primary mission is to provide small cash grants in aid for any eligible Tillamook County resident with a support need that cannot be met through other means. Roughly half of the grants awarded by The Arc of Tillamook County are for direct aid to individuals for:

  • Medical and Dental Assistance
  • Emergency Funds for Shelter
  • Adaptive Clothing and Equipment
  • Education and Training
  • Upward Bound and other Camp Scholarships

Community Assistance

The other half of grants awarded may be small or large grants supporting other local non-profit organizations and activities.  Some examples of these types of grants are:

  • Annual Multi-Modular Preschool Screening Program (Tillamook being one of only three counties to continue comprehensive screenings)
  • Educational and Recreational Programs
  • Annual social functions that are open to the entire community
