What We Do
Using income from our thrift store, the Kit and Caboodle, and other donor gifts, we offer assistance to individuals experiencing I/DD and to organizations supporting individuals experiencing I/DD.
Individual Assistance
Our primary mission is to provide small cash grants in aid for any eligible Tillamook County resident with a support need that cannot be met through other means. Roughly half of the grants awarded by The Arc of Tillamook County are for direct aid to individuals for:
- Medical and Dental Assistance
- Emergency Funds for Shelter
- Adaptive Clothing and Equipment
- Education and Training
- Upward Bound and other Camp Scholarships
Community Assistance
The other half of grants awarded may be small or large grants supporting other local non-profit organizations and activities. Some examples of these types of grants are:
- Annual Multi-Modular Preschool Screening Program (Tillamook being one of only three counties to continue comprehensive screenings)
- Educational and Recreational Programs
- Annual social functions that are open to the entire community
